Growing Through Experiences

SPARK BUS Visit

Horizons Unlimited visited CGMS with their SPARK BUS, where our students participated in a range of activities to better understand different scientific principles.

  • Four smiling young women stand outdoors, holding containers of sand, gravel, charcoal, and other materials for a science project.
  • Children engage in a science experiment, layering sand, gravel, and charcoal in clear cups.
  • A young person carefully adds liquid from a bottle to a test tube, observed by two peers.

LIFE Simulation

Our Life Simulation is designed to help our 8th grade students understand the real-world decisions that adults make every day regarding careers, income, and budgeting.

  • A man and a young girl are at a table with papers, with a sign that says "Station 2 Housing and Utilities" behind them.
  • A 'Game of Life' board game setup with a monthly budget sheet and career/status cards.
  • A young woman with braces smiles, holding a card and a monthly budget sheet in a gymnasium.

Annual Design Day

At our annual Design Day, our students took on a creative challenge centered around mental health and stress reduction. These young innovators used teamwork and modern technology to design solutions that support well-being.

  • Four young girls stand together, holding a decorated box with the text '# Bye Bye fake friends!'
  • Four students collaborate on a project, working with tape and a red bin.
  • Four young people stand together, with one holding a box labeled 'Unbox Your Anxiety'.
